Ouverture des travaux de la session ordinaire du parlement communautaire de la CEMAC ce Lundi, 7 février 2022, via visioconférence par son président, l’Hon. Hilarion ETONG, premier Vice President de l’Assemblée nationale du Cameroun. Ce dernier était accompagné de quelques parlementaires-membres camerounais tel que l’hon. ALIOUM FADIL, hon. HAMAN TCHIOUTO et Hon. ATEAWUNG FOJU Bernard.
l’Hon. Hilarion ETONG, avant de déclarer ouverte la session des travaux, a adressé ses meilleurs vœux 2022 au président de la commission, ses chers collègues députés et aux collaborateurs présents. Il a souligne les pertes causés par la Covid-19 et a vivement souhaité que les différentes thérapies apportent une solution définitive.
Il a rappelé le manque de visibilité sur le plan international du parlement communautaire de la CEMAC faute de financement. Les députés communautaires ont été informé de la nomination du centrafricain M. TOUNGOU ALEMBE Gervais Léopold. Un changement à la tête du Secrétariat Général de l’institution pour un mandat de 5 ans par le Chef de l’Etat Camerounais, Son Excellence M. Paul BIYA, President en exercice de la conférence des Chefs d’Etats, suivant Décision n°09/21-CEMAC-Parlement-CCE signé le 18 décembre 2021.
Le Premier Vice President de l’Assemblée nationale a par ailleurs adresse ses vives félicitations à l’équipe nationale du Sénégal, vainqueur de la CAN Total Énergies 2021, particulierement salué la participation des équipes des états membres du parlement communautaire, c’est à dire le Gabon, la Guinée Équatoriale et le Cameroun.
Au nom des parlementaires de la CEMAC, il félicite la République du Cameroun pour l’organisation, l’accueil, l’hospitalité et la générosité dont elle a fait part pour le bon déroulement de la compétition. C’est sur ce ton que l’Hon. Hilarion ETONG, Président du Parlement communautaire de la CEMAC a déclaré ouverte la session des travaux.

The opening ceremony of the CEMAC Parliament took place today 7 February 2022 in Yaounde via videoconference. The deliberations were chaired by Hon. Hilarion ETONG, Senior Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Cameroun, current President of the CEMAC Parliament. He was accompanied by some Cameroonian Parliamentarians notable: Hon. ALIOUM FADIL, Hon. HAMAN TCHIOUTO and Hon. ATEAWUNG FOJU Bernard. Visible on the screen, were the chairman of the Committee of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa and some CEMAC Parliamentarians.
Before declaring the session open, Hon. Hilarion ETONG extended his best wishes for the year 2022 to the chairman of the committee, his fellow Members of Parliament and the collaborators present. He pointed out the damages caused by COVID-19 and stressed that it was his dearest wish that this pandemic comes to an end.
The elected representative of Upper Sanaga reminded his colleagues that the CEMAC Parliament is not visible internationally due to certain diplomatic problems caused by a lack of funding. He informed Members of the CEMAC Community of the appointment of Mr. TOUNGOU ALEMBE Gervais Leopold, of the Central African Republic, a change at the head of the institution’s General Secretariat for a 5-year term by the Cameroonian Head of State, His Excellency Mr. Paul BIYA, current President of the Conference of Heads of States, following Decision No. 09/21-CEMAC-Parliament -CCE signed on 18 December 2021.
He further reaveled during his opening speech that throughout the examination of the issues that will be on the agenda of this session, their objective will be to deliberate in order to meet the expectations of the populations that these MPs represent.
Following the African and local sports news, the Senior Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Cameroon expressed his congratulations to the Senegal national team, winners of the 2021 AFCON Total Energies. He particularly saluted the participation of the teams of the member states of the CEMAC Community namely Gabon, Equatorial Guinea and Cameroon.
On behalf of CEMAC Parliamentarians, he congratulated the Republic of Cameroon for the perfect organisation, hospitality and generosity she offered for the smooth running of the competition. Finally, with these words, the President of the CEMAC Parliament declared the session open.
